Upper back and Posture Exercise!

Are you working from home this week? Looking for some exercises you can do? Give this banded row exercise a try! It is a simple exercise that only requires a band and something to attach the band to (a pole, doorknob etc.) .

This exercise is great for working the upper back and can help to improve our posture.

To perform this exercise:
❇️Loop a band around a pole or similar object at sternum height
❇️Grab the band underhand, slightly narrower than shoulder width
❇️Step back until your arms are fully reached forward and there is a little bit of tension in the band
❇️Bend your knees, eyes forward, head in neutral
❇️ From the starting position, slowly bend your elbows, pulling the band towards your body.
❇️Make sure to initiate the movement by bringing your shoulder blades down and back. We are trying to strengthen the upper back and don’t want to pull the band using our arms!.
❇️make sure to not shrug the shoulders up- keep them relaxed! 😎
