What is Chiropractic?

Chiropractic is a licensed healthcare profession that specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of neuromusculoskeletal disorders. Chiropractic provides conservative therapy for spine and limb pains. The modern evidenced-based chiropractor will employ a variety of techniques to get you out of pain and improve your function.

“Vlad is the man… period. Micheal Jordan of Chiropractor’s. I came in just about a month ago with a herniated disc in my lower back with little to no movement and extreme pain. I was truly worried due to the severity of my injury. Through a PROPER diagnostic of my body not only was my herniated disk feeling better but other underlying problems they were missed many years ago were addressed as well. I’ve also had groin pain that always limited me from running for years, nobody was every able to fix this issue. Today I ran home from the clinic! I can’t express my gratitude for Dr. Vlad and the progress we’ve made in only one month. Thank you, you’ve been a miracle”

What types of injuries can a chiropractor help with?

Chiropractors specialize in treating the nervous system, muscular pains and strains, ligamentous sprains, and joint/bone restrictions. Injuries can be current (new) or have been there for a long time (chronic). Symptoms can come suddenly or seem to be unprovoked, or they might get worse over time. Your chiropractor will work with you to address the immediate causes of your discomfort and work with you to prevent a recurrence, no matter how long your symptoms last.

What can I expect during my initial visit?

During your initial intake appointment, our chiropractor will take a comprehensive history of your complaint, perform a physical and orthopedic assessment of the region, screen for any serious diseases and pathology, assess you for biopsychosocial factors contributing to the issue, recommend exercises and stretches, and educate you on what your body is going through.

A chiropractic treatment can include the following:
● Education about your diagnosis and a plan for your recovery
● Soft Tissue Work
● Chiropractic manipulation to restricted joints to reduce pain and stiffness
● Ergonomics and posture recommendations
● Stretching
● Individualized exercise prescription to improve your strength, balance, and function

How long are the visits?

Initial visits are usually 60 minutes long and generally include treatment (if needed) as well as one-on-one rehabilitation exercises at the end of the session. Follow-up chiropractic sessions are 20-30 minutes long and treatment includes one-on-one rehabilitation exercises as well.

“I am so happy I was referred to Baseline by one of their patients. Dr Kody Au is an incredible chiropractor! I have suffered from recurring neck and shoulder pain from a car accident injury for many years. When my chiropractor retired, I tried several others out and I was very disappointed with the consultations and the treatments. Not only is Kody just as great as my long-time chiropractor, he actually did a much more thorough job working with me to ensure I could finally conquer my issues. The exercises he and and his kinesiology team have given me have been working out great. I finally feel normal and I’ve noticed significant improvement in the quality of my workouts. I initially felt a bit of anxiety going into my first appointment as I’m always a bit nervous about someone new adjusting me. Kody is a great conversationalist which really helped make my appointments very stress free. I am already referring all of my friends and family here!”

They're trained on treating the shoulder, elbow, wrist, hip, knee, and feet. Chiropractors can also check your jaw to see if your temporomandibular joint (TMJ) is creating problems as well.

“I went to see Dr. Vlad for my sciatic pain. It has been bugging me on and off for quite sometime and the week I went to see him, the pain was pretty intense. I did notice a very significant change right after the first session with him. Over the 5 seasons that I had with him he addressed various problems in my back that were all adding to the issue. He also gave me a whole bunch of tools to deal with them as a sustainable solution. He was really good at communicating with me what his diagnosis were, how he reached that conclusion and how is he going to approach it. I really appreciated that clarity. We also had a few interesting chats about the history of chiropractic treatments. I was also appreciative of the fact that he believed full recovery as opposed to an on going treatment.”
